John Kopina, at the age of 92, of Frackville, died silently on Saturday, August 19th, 2023, at Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg.
He was born in Frackville, on September 11th, 1930. He was the son of the late Michael and Meri (Hafinak) Kopina.

John Kopina Life
He completed his graduation in 1948 from West Mahanoy Township High School. His companions remembered John as one of the intelligent boys in the class and Just as unassuming as his diminutive size.
He never had much to say and was always ready to serve when asked. John remained a gentleman and a gentleman throughout his life.
John Kopina proudly served in the US Marines during the Korean War as a Sharp Shooter and was a 3-star Korean War Medal Recipient.
Before opening his successful business, Kopina’s Auto Electric, he worked at Seitzinger Motors, Frackville. He was a member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Frackville.
His death was taken place by three sisters Catherine Kalbach, Margaret Regan, and Irene Kunigonis, and step-siblings, Mamie Jurick, Helen Carey, Anna McDonald, Olga Stednitz, and Michael Kopina.
He left his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews. His family says thanks to his many neighbors, friends, and professionals who helped him in the difficult circumstances.
Funeral Services
Funeral Services of John Kopina with military honors will be arranged on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Rather than flowers, contributions may be done to Community Services for Sight, 4 Brookhill Road, Sugarloaf, PA 19249.
