Bang Ye-dam, a South Korean singer and former member of the boy band Treasure under YG Entertainment, was born on May 7, 2002 (Korean:). He gained notoriety after competing in the second season of K-pop Star (2012–2013), where he came in second. Bang was discovered by YG Entertainment in June 2013 and hired as a trainee. On June 5, 2020, he released the digital single”Wayo” after a seven-year training session. After that, on August 7, he made his debut with Treasure.

Bang Yedam’s Entry into Music

He won the top academic honors at Kwang-sung Middle School, it was discovered while he was a student there. Bang studied Practical Music at the Guro-gu, Seoul-based School of Performing Arts (SOPA).In November 2018, he disclosed that during mock tests for the areas of Social Studies and Science, he placed first overall in the entire school and was referred to be a “model student” both at school and while a trainee. The next day, on August 7, he made his TREASURE debut with the song “BOY” off their debut single album, “THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER ONE.” He later won Rookie of the Year accolades alongside the members of TREASURE and performed on numerous occasions, including the Asia Artist accolades (AAA), Golden Disc Awards (GDA), and Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

Bang appeared for the K-pop Star Season 2 auditions on SBS in August 2012. BoA praised his singing during the opening round, drawing comparisons to a youthful Michael Jackson. Yang Hyun-suk was interested and appreciated Park Jin-young’s rhythm for being able to grasp the audience’s soul. He finished second behind the brother-sister band Akdong Musician (AKMU). Bang’s affiliation with Yang Hyun-suk’s label was officially announced in June 2013, at which point the first- and second-place finishers were both signed to YG Entertainment. On October 27, he performed Officially Missing You on the WIN: Who is Next season finale alongside Lee Hi and Akdong Musician. As a result of interactions with Kpop Star alumni Lee Seung-hoon, Winner, formerly Team A, made appearances in previously unseen segments from the show. He also had a brief cameo on Winner TV in January 2014.

Bang had his first television appearance in four years with Stray Kids (2017), along with other YG Entertainment trainees who served as its spokespeople.[19] His performance video for Shawn Mendes’s “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” peaked at number one on the Naver TV top 100 popular videos chart, propelling his name to the top of the South Korean search portal site Naver. On YouTube, the film received over 3 million views in a single day and, as of July 2023, had 55 million views overall. He appeared as himself in a cameo on the Netflix original series YG Future Strategy Office (2018) on October 5, 2018.

Bang’s Entry into YG Treasure Box

YG Treasure Box (2018), a reality survival shows where 29 trainees competed for a slot in the new boy group, included Bang as a participant in November 2018. He took part in the competition as a member of “Team A”.Bang made the final lineup at the finals by winning the vocal team’s overall competition. At the conclusion of the program, it was revealed that the boy band was called Treasure.

On May 21, 2020, YG Entertainment stated that Bang would release a digital single on June 5, subsequently revealed to be called “Wayo,” before Treasure’s formal debut. Notably, labelmates Lee Chan-hyuk of AKMU and Kang Seung-Yoon of Winner took part in the production. Bang Leaves YG Treasure Box

On November 8, 2022, YG Entertainment revealed that Bang and fellow member Mashiho had departed the group and that their exclusive contract with the firm had been dissolved. Bang reportedly quit pursuing a producing career, according to YG.

Bang Ye Dam is leaving the group to pursue a different professional path as a producer, according to the release from YG Entertainment, while Mashiho is leaving the group to concentrate on his health.

The K-Pop boy band was created by YG Entertainment in 2019; members were chosen for the group through the reality competition show YG Treasure Box. The group made its debut in 2020.

Since their debut, the group has produced several albums and EPs, including The First Step: Treasure Effect in January 2021. In 2020, the band issued the First Step album Tetralogy. This was followed by in 2022, they released the EPs The Second Step: Chapter One and The Second Step: Chapter Two.

The newest publication from TREASURE, The Second Step: Chapter Two, was released on October 4, 2022, although it did not contain Bang Ye Dam or Mashiho.

The K-pop trio TREASURE, in which Bang Yedam and Mashiho made their debut in 2020, has announced that they are parting ways. On November 8, a notice from TREASURE’s management company, YG Entertainment, was posted to the group’s Reverse.
