The 85-year-old Patricia M. “Pat” Tarson of Mahanoy City passed away on Thursday at Pottsville’s Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East.
Patricia M. “Pat” Tarson was the late Anthony and Margaret (Lutz) Sherkness’s daughter, and she was born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital. Patricia M. “Pat” Tarson had previously worked for City Shirt in Frackville and graduated from Mahanoy City High School. Patricia M. “Pat” Tarson belonged to Mahanoy City’s St. Teresa of Calcutta Church.
Patricia M. “Pat” Tarson loved doing crafts, painting, sewing, pottery, and treasure collecting. Her husband Michael and a number of her brothers and sisters died before her in 1989.
Other survivors comprise a brother, Albie Sherkness of Ashland, Maine, two sons, Michael and his wife Judy of St. Augustine, Florida, and John and his wife Lisa of Butler Township, as well as grand kids, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be place Friday at 10 AM from St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Family members and friends are encouraged to attend.
Kevin P. Gallagher, the Rev., will preside. The family would appreciate donations sent to St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Pat’s honor.
The arrangements are handled by the Mahanoy City-based David D. Jarrett Funeral Home.
