She was born in Silver Creek, PA, on June 19, 1931. Sarah was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Seary) McElvaney. She completed her graduation from the former Blythe Township School. Additionally, she worked as an employee at garment factories in Brockton and New Philadelphia. Sarah was a loyal member of the reputed Holy Family Catholic Church.
Relations
She left nieces and nephews, including Betsy Steffy and Ellie Faber. She loved them from the soul of her heart, like a mother.
Sarah’s death took place with a sister, Elizabeth Chinchar; brothers, Robert, John, Joseph, Richard, Thomas, James, and Francis; and nephews, James Chinchar and Robert McElvaney, Jr.
Funeral Services Of Sarah Slepetsky
The Funeral Services of Sarah Slepetsky will be arranged at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad Street, Tamaqua, with Deacon Edward Gerard officiating.
The visitors will follow St. Mary Cemetery, Tuscarora. They will be Called at 9 a.m.–11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. For the funeral, some donations will be given to the Activities Fund, St. Luke’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 360 West Ruddle Street, Coaldale, PA 18218.
Zizelmann-Gulla will handle all the necessary Funeral Home arrangements and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.
