John Leo Marx’s Life
John was a proud Navy veteran. His courageous fight against brain cancer ended on Monday, August 28th, at St. Luke Hospital in Orwigsburg, with his family members who loved him.
John Leo Marx was born on January 29th, 1938, to Anthony and Hazel (Harris) Marx. Also, proceeding him in death are a son, John Leo Robert Marx, and a grandson, Charlie Strouse. Four brothers, Max, Bobby, Tommy, and Kenny Marx. One sister, June McDonald, her husband, Paul, and sister-in-law Maureen Marx.

He will be remembered by his two daughters, Therese (Marx) Rakus, her husband Bill, and Sheila Marx. Two sons, Gary Marx, wife Maria, and Eric Marx, wife Patti.

He was adored by his grandchildren, Tara Hixon and her companion Michael Goodwin, Gary Marx, wife Heather, Cody Rakus, wife Heather, Dakota Rakus, AJ Hahn, Ean Hahn, Cullen Strouse, Chelsea Fleming, and Nadine Lucero, husband Stephen.
Additionally, he was admired by his great-grandchildren, Alexia Hixon, Bryce Delpais, Freya Wolfe, Dakota Shoemaker, Alexandria Gasbarra, and Ezra Gasbarra.
Moreover, he left two brothers, Charles Marx, his wife Linda, and Joe Marx. Two sisters, Bernadette (Marx) Bound, husband Gene, and Barbara (Marx) Hennershitz, husband Gene. Two sisters-in-law, Dawn Marx and Laverne Marx, Cousin Harry (Bud) Feinauer; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
People will miss him for things like yard sales, fishing, polkas, and his Navy Days!
Funeral Services
The funeral service of John Leo Marx will be arranged on Tuesday, September 5th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Robert A. Evans Funeral Home, Pike Street, Port Carbon, with MSGR William Glosser officiating.
Friends and family members are invited on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of services at the Funeral home.
John will be laid to rest in Indian Town Gap National Cemetery with Military Honors. We will remember him
